Duplicate a page in Compose

NOTE: Compose is being deprecated. It is in maintenance mode and won’t be updated with any new features. Current installations will work until December 2025.

How duplication works

When you duplicate a page in Compose, an exact copy of this page is created, with the same fields and content in them. The duplicated page is created in draft mode. You can then edit its content according to your preferences and publish the page.

Duplication of referenced entries

Duplication of a referenced entry is defined by the Component setting state in the relevant reference field as follows:

  • Component setting active—The referenced entry is duplicated.

  • Component setting deactivated—The referenced entry is linked, but not duplicated.

NOTE: Assets are linked, but not duplicated.

Important! A page that contains over 200 referenced entries cannot be duplicated. If you attempt to duplicate it, a relevant notification will be displayed.

User's permissions to duplicate a page

For a user to be able to duplicate a page in Compose, it is required to add the following permissions to the user's space role:

  • An allow rule to create entries of content types that are used as page types in Compose.

  • An allow rule to read or edit a referenced entry in the field with active Component setting.
