Templates for AI Actions

NOTE: this page was reviewed using Contentful's AI Actions "Review" and "Fix Spelling & Grammar" templates to support clarity and accuracy.

The templates include their own built-in configuration and instructions to help you get started applying them to your own content. These templates also allow you to build from their initial framework and customize them to better meet your specific needs. You can find our templates in the overview section under the "AI & Automations" tab.

Translate

Contentful AI Actions can translate your content at both the field level and the entire entry to serve localized content for your global audience.

Field-level translation

  1. Next to the field you want to translate, click on the AI icon and choose Translate from the dropdown.

  2. In the command palette, choose a target locale you want to translate.

  3. Review the translated content to ensure accuracy.

  4. If the content is not accurately translated, revert the changes by clicking the back arrow icon in the AI dropdown, below the field.

Translation of an entire entry

  1. In the locale section in the entry sidebar, choose a locale you want to work with in the entry editor.

  2. At the top right corner of the entry editor, click the AI icon and choose Translate for the entire entry.

  3. In the command palette, select the target locale you want to translate the content.

  4. If the content is not accurately translated, you can revert the changes by clicking the back arrow icon in the AI dropdown below the field.

NOTE: Refine the AI-generated content by adding specific instructions or adjustments in the "Instructions" tab within the AI Action setup.

Use cases

  • Localizing product listings: translate product listings for different markets to ensure they are accurately described in the local language.

  • Adapting marketing materials: ensure your marketing materials are effective in different locales by translating them accurately and efficiently.

Rewrite content

AI Actions offer options for refining your content to suit your company's needs. You can choose to make your text longer, shorter, simpler, more casual, or more professional. Additionally, you can customize the prompt and tweak individual words for a more personalized touch.

To rewrite content:

  1. Navigate to the entry and select the field you want to modify.

  2. Choose an AI Action: Click on the field and select the "AI" dropdown from the top toolbar.

  3. Choose from the following options:

    • Make it longer: expand the content to provide more detail and information.

    • Make it shorter: condense the content to be more concise.

    • Make it simpler: simplify the language to be more understandable.

    • Make it more casual: adjust the tone to be more relaxed and informal.

    • Make it more professional: elevate the tone to be more formal and polished.

4. For more tailored results, edit the AI prompt to better match your brand or content needs.

5. In the AI action dropdown for the field, enter specific words or phrases to tweak for granular refinement.

6. Click Save to save your changes and create an AI Action.

Use cases

  • Expanding descriptions: if a product description is too brief, use "Make it Longer" to add more details about the features and benefits.

  • Condensing reports: for lengthy content, use "Make it Shorter" to highlight key points and make the document more digestible.

  • Simplifying instructions: to make complex instructions more accessible, use "Make it Simpler" to break down the steps clearly.

Review and fix

AI Actions help refine content for clarity, accuracy, and readability. Use AI-powered suggestions to fix errors, enhance grammar, and align content with your brand's style.

To review and fix content:

  1. Select the field you want to refine.

  2. Click the "AI" dropdown in the top toolbar and choose:

    • Fix grammar and spelling: Correct typos and punctuation.

    • Enhance readability: Improve structure and word choice.

    • Ensure consistency: Align tone and terminology.

3. Edit the AI prompt for specific style preferences.

4. Click Save to apply changes.

  • Polishing blog posts: eliminate typos and improve flow.

  • Improving clarity in reports: simplify complex sentences.

  • Standardizing product descriptions: maintain a consistent tone.

Personalize

To personalize content:

  1. Select the field you want to modify.

  2. Click the "AI" dropdown in the top toolbar and choose:

    • Match brand voice: adjust tone to align with your company's style.

    • Target specific audiences: adapt language to engage different demographics.

    • Refine messaging: customize phrasing for clarity and impact.

3. Edit the AI prompt for further customization.

4. Click Save to apply changes.

Summarize

AI Actions help condense content while retaining key information. Use AI-powered summarization to create concise versions of long text for quick readability and better engagement.

To summarize content:

  1. Select the field you want to condense.

  2. Click the "AI" dropdown in the top toolbar and choose:

    • Create a brief summary: generate a concise version of the text.

    • Highlight key points: extract the most important details.

    • Simplify complex content: make dense information easier to understand.

3. Edit the AI prompt for specific focus areas.

4. Click Save to apply changes.
