Content type validations
By default, concepts cannot be assigned to entries. Instead, one or more hierarchies of concepts (represented by concept schemes, or subconcepts of specific concepts) must first be assigned to the content type. This assignment functionality is called taxonomy validations. Once taxonomy validations are implemented, entries can then be allowed the use of concepts within the hierarchies assigned to their content type.
The same permissions for creating and editing a content type apply for managing taxonomy validations.
Limitations:
You can create up to 10 validations per content type.
To create a taxonomy validation:
To allow concepts to be assigned to entries, you must first add taxonomy validations to a content type.
Navigate to the content model page.
Select the content type you want to add a taxonomy validation to and select “Taxonomy validations” in the sidebar.
Click + Add validation. Choose a source of allowed concepts in the “Source of allowed concepts” dropdown.
NOTE: Selecting a concept scheme enables assignment of any concept within it. Choosing a specific concept will allow the inclusions all its subconcepts to be added to an entry.
4. Click Confirm to save the new validation.
To delete a taxonomy validation:
NOTE: Deleting a taxonomy validation will affect which concepts can be assigned to the entry, however concepts already assigned to the entry will not be affected.
Navigate to the content model page and select “Taxonomy validations” in the sidebar.
Click on the three-dotted icon on the right side of the validation you want to delete.
Click Delete from the dropdown.
