# Delete a role

DELETE https://api.contentful.com/spaces/{space_id}/roles/{role_id}

Use this endpoint to delete an existing role. You can only delete roles if there is no user in the space with *only* that role assigned, i.e. a user must have at least one role.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Request

### Path parameters

- `space_id` (string, required) — ID of the space in form of a string
- `role_id` (string, required) — ID of the role in a form of a string

## Response

### 204

No Content - Request successful, no content returned
