# Update a task

PUT https://api.contentful.com/spaces/{space_id}/environments/{environment_id}/entries/{entry_id}/tasks/{task_id}
Content-Type: application/vnd.contentful.management.v1+json

Updates a task's body, assignee, or status. Task assignees can only update `status`; task creators and admins can update `body` and `assignedTo`. Resolved tasks cannot have `body` or `assignee` changed without unresolving first.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

### Path parameters

- `space_id` (string, required) — ID of the space in form of a string
- `environment_id` (string, required) — ID of the environment in form of a string
- `entry_id` (string, required) — ID of the entry in form of a string
- `task_id` (string, required) — ID of the task

### Headers

- `X-Contentful-Version` (string, required) — Version of the task to update

### Body (application/vnd.contentful.management.v1+json)

This endpoint expects a map from string to any.
